The Children’s Center at Carolina Park opened
on August 13, 2007 to serve children ages 6 months through 4 (4K, Pre K) in
a high-quality, educational environment designed for very young
children. The Center’s brand new building is located just off
Carolina Park Boulevard near the new Wando High School in Mt.
Pleasant, SC.
Open year-round in a school year / summer classes cycle, parents can
choose full-day or half-day programs for their children.
PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS, STAFF, AND FACILITIES
In 19 self-contained classrooms and two outdoor learning labs, The
Center implements an interactive, hands-on curriculum that
encourages children to learn by doing. Concrete experiences using all
five senses - seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling - are
the norm, not the exception. Well-trained teachers guide children
through activities that are appropriately challenging and
developmentally sound. In addition to the core curriculum offered to all
students, children may enroll in supplemental learning experiences in
dance, physical fitness, music and the creative arts.
WHERE KIDS CAN BE KIDS
Children who attend The Center will grow and learn in a facility
designed to accommodate the curious minds and active bodies of
young children. Special attention has been given to creating a
safe physical environment where kids can be kids as they explore
the world around them. At the Children’s Center kids can climb on,
crawl through and touch what they see as they move about the
school.
HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION
Focused on meeting the 10 standards of high quality education as
defined by the National Association for the Education of Young
Children, The Center is on track to be the only pre-school East of
the Cooper to achieve
NAEYC accreditation. That translates into
better teacher to child ratios, annual programmatic assessments
and implementation of sound fiscal management. Bottom line is you
