Q: What are your operating hours?
A: The Children's Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am until 6:00pm.
Q: How do I schedule a tour of the school?
A: Tours are given by the Director and are offered, by appointment, during regular school hours. The tour lasts about 30 minutes. If you would like to schedule a tour of the school, please call us at 843-860-1154.
Q: How do I find out what the rates are?
A: You can find our rates on our application form which can be downloaded from the website under the programs tab. You can also request rates by email (click here) or phone the school at 843-860-1154.
Q: What are your teacher to student ratios?
A: The Children's Center prides itself on maintaining ratios that are lower than those required by the state of South Carolina.
Q: Can my child start at any point during the school year?
A: Yes. We have continual enrollment in all of our programs as long as there are spots available. If a spot is not available for the time you are needing, you can be placed on the waitlist by turning in the application with the $125 application fee. We will contact you once a space opens up for your child.
Q: I am not expecting until next year and won't need care until then. Can I send in an application now?
A: Yes. Applications are accepted at any time for your child to be placed on our waitlist.
Q: Are there discounts for having more than one child enrolled at the school?
A: Yes. We offer a 5% sibling discount to all students.
Q: I have been on a tour and would like to sign my child up, what is the next step?
A: If there is a spot available for your child, you can turn in your application with the $125 application fee. You will then need to pay a Tuition Guarantee which is a two week payment for full day students or a month payment for half day students that is paid in advance and is used to cover the last tuition payment of the school year. Once it is received, it is refundable for 30 days, after which if you withdraw for any reason, you will lose it. You will also need to fill out a full enrollment packet and turn it into the front desk on or before your child's first day of school. If there is not a spot available for your child, you can be placed on our waitlist by turning in your application with the $125 application fee.
Q: What is the school's operating calendar?
A: The school year runs all 12 months starting in August. Our 10 month, full day program for threes and fours, and our half day program begins in August and runs through the end of May. The school observes numerous holidays throughout the year and provides teacher work days when the school is closed to students.
Q: What kind of food will be served?
A: The Children's Center maintains an allergy-aware environment. The Food Service Manager creates menus in keeping with USDA guidelines, using fresh, seasonal vegetables and fruits to prepare healthful, nutritious snacks and meals.
